Sledding

Okay, we call it sledding. But hey it is kinda sledding right? I know that this is not the typical sled. We are just improvising.

Andrea has so much fun, including me and Dave playing and sledding. The giggles and laugh that we hear from Andrea is priceless. Just the same, when it is time to get inside, Andrea always cries as she wants to stay outside. Who can blame her?

Ice Day

The snow turned into ice. You can no longer picked them up and roll them. You have to step on it and get chunks. Nevertheless, it never stopped us from enjoying it.

It was impossible to drive thus, hubby didn't work. We had fun at the snow and stayed inside the house the rest of the day.

Second Snow

We had our second snow last night. It just barely covered the ground. It was not enough for us to play. When I woke up around 7am this morning the snow started to melt. I wished we got more but hey I should be happy even though it barely covered the ground it was still snow....

Fun in the Snow

As I posted earlier, we are really happy that it was snowing. After a couple of hours the snow has accumulated in the ground so we dressed ourselves and went outside to play with the snow. Surprisingly there were no other kids around. I thought that kids will all be outside playing. Needless to say, we had the whole ground for ourselves. Just me and Andrea.

Before we went out to play in the snow, we let Andrea watched Dora and the Snow Princess that way she will have an idea about the snow. Andrea had so much fun with the snow. She cried when we brought her inside. We have to bring her in because her nose is already red.

Here's some of the pics....

Yay... It's Snowing

As of the moment, the snow is falling down! We are all excited. We hope that the weather forecast is correct. The forecast said that we can have 3-5 inches of snow. For us, that is a lot.

As the east coast are experiencing couple of snow storms, we in Alabama was not affected at all. We have our cold weathers but no snow, that is why this time we are happy that it is snowing. I really wish it will snow some more. I will wait and see....

Snow Sculpture

According to Wikipedia, Snow sculpture is a sculpture form comparable to sand sculpture or ice sculpture in that most of it is now practiced outdoors, and often in full view of spectators, thus giving it kinship to performance art in the eyes of some. The materials and the tools differ widely, but often include hand tools such as shovels, hatchets, and saws. Snow sculptures are usually carved out of a single block of snow about 6 to 15 feet on each side and weighing about 20 - 30 tons. The snow is densely packed into a form after having been produced by artificial means or collected from the ground after a snowfall.

There are a number of international ice and snow sculpting events around the world. In the USA, the Saint Paul Winter Carnival which hosts snow and ice carving competitions is the oldest annual winter carnival in the world, with the first one being held in 1886. The annual Winter Carnival at Michigan Technological University has been a tradition since 1922. The Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships in Breckenridge, Colorado began in 1990.

Some other countries has its own snow sculpting events.

Yehey... It's Snowing!

It doesn't snow all the time in Alabama so every time it snows, I get excited. Tonight it snow and Andrea and I went outside to feel the snow flakes freely falling. Andrea stick her hand to feel the snow flakes and she enjoyed looking at my hair with snowflakes in it. She doesn't want to back inside but she has to we were not dressed properly for cold weather and besides she was not feeling good today.

I wish it will continue snowing that way when we wake up tomorrow we can see snow in the ground... I don't think it will though.... but hey... I can always wish...
