Brownie with Orange Icing

Last weekend, daughter and I baked a brownie and we topped it with orange icing. The icing made the brownie very sweet. Definitely not advisable for me to eat them. Andrea just had 2 slices (1 slice the other day and 1 slice today).

I have a big problem now, who will be going to eat all of this. I hate to do it but I know it will just end up at my trash bin if nobody comes and eat it.

How to Make the World's Best Cheesecake

When it comes to making thing like desert, there is quite a lot of finesse that is put into the making of any kind of desert, whether it is cheesecake, or it is something like cookies or brownies. It is also something that takes a lot of time in order to learn to do well. There are schools that specifically teach their students these kinds of skills, which can help the people who have an interest in the culinary arts, whether they are interested in cooking, or baking. Deserts are something that everyone loves, but they also seem to be some of the most difficult things that we can try to make, and yet, the people who make them are richly rewarded for all of their hard work by their grateful friends and families.

One of the most difficult of these deserts to make is cheesecake. It is something that very few people are able to get perfectly correct all of the time. There are many risks that people who decide to attempt to make this desert take on. If it is not made correctly, there is a chance that it could come out tough, or even dry. This is one of the reasons that people decide to make an art out of this desert, because there are so many different things that have the ability to go wrong if the person that is making it is not careful. The last thing that anyone would want to have happen to one of the deserts that they have worked so hard to prepare correctly is to have it come out dry. There are certain recipes that are going to be better than others when it comes to making these kinds of deserts.

There are recipes that you need to allow a certain amount of time in order to make, because they can take a little bit longer than some of the other kinds of methods that are out there. Some of them involve an oven, and others involve a hot water bath while baking in the oven in order to ensure even cooking. There is also another cooking method that is available, and whether you are someone who has been making different kinds of deserts for a long time, or you are someone who is relatively new to the process, it is something that just about anyone could do if they put their mind to it. It also involves a relatively small amount of work, which is appealing, and it involves no oven whatsoever. It involves a premade piecrust, 2 packages of Philadelphia cream cheese, sweet and condensed milk, lime or lemon juice, and anything else that you can think of that will make it taste wonderful while still keeping it's consistency. You blend it all together and stick it in the freezer overnight and the next day, you have a great desert than anyone will love. It will end up making you very popular with your friends, and you are sure to be asked for the recipe many times.

Baking Cake

This is a german chocolate cake with coconut-pecan frosting. This is hubby's favorite cake. This can be bought at any store but hubby prefers a home made cake which is what I prefer too as it is cheaper to bake a cake than to buy one.

My little toddler also enjoys baking cake. She knows the ingredients of the cake. She enjoys helping me. It is a great bonding for us.

Who wants a slice?

Birthday Cake

Yesterday, my hubby celebrated his birthday. We had a wonderful dinner cooked by the chef (me!)... We ate steak and mushroom. We also had crab legs which we didn't eat... ssshhhh we will eat it tonight.

As for dessert, we had German Chocolate cake. This cake is my hubby's favorite cake so, it is just but fit to have german chocolate cake as his birthday cake.

There was one happy girl when she saw the cake. She couldn't wait to dig in to the cake... that's my daughter Andrea!

German chocolate cake is a layered chocolate cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Sweet baking chocolate is traditionally used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake, but few recipes call for it today. The filling and/or topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk; once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred in. Occasionally, a chocolate frosting is spread on the sides of the cake and piped around the circumference of the layers to hold in the filling.
