Favorite educational show

The television set has been a god send to my husband and I. For years it has helped keep our four delightfully boisterous children entertained whilst we grab some down time and do the household chores in peace. We used to watch lots of videos and then DVDs, but once the kids had watched them once or twice they soon became bored and wanted different movies. This was becoming an expensive way to keep the little darlings quiet. So we came to the decision to get satellite tv installed.

Since it was installed we have stopped buying DVDs and going to the cinema as often, but my husband has also stopped helping me with the household chores. He now spends most of his time with the kids watching the awesome television programs. They watch the Deadliest Catch on the Discovery channel on directstartv.com. The size of the deep sea crabs are utterly amazing. The kids watch transfixed as the crates are brought up from the bottom of the sea full of massive crabs. We like to watch the Deadliest Catch so much that we went along to the local museum where they had a small display of the giant crabs that we see on the program, to see these creatures close up is amazing.

Samsung TV

When we visited Dad early last month, we watched a 3D movie on their 3D TV. It was amazing! At first, I was hesitant to use their 3D glasses because I know that the glasses alone costs a fortune. But, you can't enjoy the 3D movie without wearing a 3D glasses.

Dad's 3D TV is a Samsung. I didn't know that you can't use those Samsung 3D glasses to another brand of 3D TV and vice-versa until he told me about it. Geez, the wonders of technology! There is always something new.

I doubt I can afford to buy a big 3D TV. Perhaps I will just settle for Samsung HDTV. I really wanted to buy a 55" HDTV or bigger. Until I can save for that, I will just settle for my 32" TV!

It's a Wonderful Life

My favorite Christmas special is the movie, It's a Wonderful Life, with Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed. I watch it every year. Sometimes I can talk my husband into watching it with me. It usually plays more than once during the holiday season, but I usually catch it on a Cannon Satellite TV channel. I'm not sure when this movie was made, but it is set just before and during the beginning of the great depression. It's in black and white. Many movies since have used the same plot of “what would life be like if I were never born.” However, whenever I watch one of those, I feel like I've already seen the movie. His life (Jimmy Stewart) has not gone anything like he had planned. He wanted to travel and build things. But, he got stuck running the family savings and loan after his father died. He sent his brother to college and was supposed to be relieved of his post when the brother returned. Unfortunately, the brother came back with a bride and a huge job offer from her father. Time passes, he gets married and has kids. Then one day some money is missing from the savings and loan. And, you guessed it, an angel comes to show him what the world would have been like if he were never born.

TV Service Cost

Most of us today have grown up with television as a constant companion. It has entertained us, shocked us, frightened us, and enlightened us. Television is the window of the world and it brings us sports events, news flashes, heartwarming rescues and pictures of human despair.

Television is not just merely a simple technology. It helps us discover the world beyond our own doors. It shows us places we may never visit, allows us to live and see the lives of luxury and glamour, and gives us a front-row seat to real-life dramas.

There are a lot of different packages that each tv service offers. TV Service can be costly at times but depending on the provider, I am sure you can get an affordable one.

My TV Service is at median range. I get all the shows that I like to watch and the sports network that we really love during football season. Once your TV service provides you with affordable rate and quality service then I am sure you will have a great time watching your favorite shows.

Suite Life on Deck on Disney Channel

Disney Channel has some incredible television viewing experiences for children but as an adult I can truly appreciate having a television station that when my kids turn on satellite tv service and are sitting watching the Disney Channel I know that they are watching television programming that is age appropriate and that is good clean fun. Many times I even enjoy watching the program Suite Life on Deck and other Disney specials with my kids. I personally feel that they are funny and since they are clean television viewing they are appropriate for all ages and that is really important to me.

I find that many other television stations I need to block because many times the content is either too violent or the language is too dirty for the children and sometimes even for me. Suite Life on Deck if you haven't seen it has the twin boys Zach and Cody and they are on a ship with a character called London Tipton. She is hilarious and just adds to antics of the already funny team that came from the show Suite Life of Zach and Cody which was kind of the prequel to this series. The series offers up kids humor that makes for many laughs and comedy that addresses kids issues in the adult world. Having these two boys who are polar opposites creates for some additional humor and their mom is quite a character herself. Overall tons of laughs and a great show to watch with the kids.

Everything is BIG in USA

I remember the first time I visited my father in law. The two plasma tvs that they have was the first thing that caught my attention. I was mesmerize. I am not exaggerating! I came from the place where a 21" inch tv is considered big already. Seeing a 65" TV for the first time was a very astonishing experience for me. When we watched the TV that time, I was so amazed at how big the people in the screen, to me it seems like the people are life size.

My first few weeks in America was full of surprises. That was then that I realize that everything in America is big. The hamburgers are big and the drinks in the fast food chains are huge. The serving in the restaurants are all in big portions that I can only manage to eat less than half of it. Everything is big from fruits to veggies and all the toiletries are sold in big packages. Everything here was sold in big packages and from where I came from most things are sold in the smallest package that is available.
