6th Wedding Anniversary

Today, marks the 6th year of our married life. It was six years ago when we vowed to love each other for better or for worse.

All those years we remained faithful to our vow. There were arguments, disagreements, and many misunderstandings but all were just but part of our married life. We weathered them all and our union is getting stronger. We are more in love today than yesterday.

We have not eaten at this Chinese buffet for few months.  We try to avoid it so that I can keep my "diet".  Then after few months of thinking about it, I finally rewarded myself by eating at this restaurant.  Once in a while food splurging is something I deserved afterall, I have been doing really good with my healthy diet.

Fall Beauty in our Backyard

It was a beautiful weekend for us - weather wise. The sun was shining and to be honest I was wearing shorts. One morning, we sat by our back porch and adore the beauty of fall in our backyard. I love it when trees turn into gold. The view is always a sight to behold.

Planning a Birthday Party for my Daughter

My daughter will be celebrating her 5th birthday on December. As early as this time, I am doing the preparations. You might ask why so early? Simply because I don't have a lot of extra money to do so. Planning it early and buying the things we need one by one will be easier. It will not hurt our budget if we buy little things one at a time.

She requested to have a party with balloons, decorations and pinata and some party games which will be held at our garage. She is excited at how she will help me decorate. She requested one thing though, she wants a present inside a box which is wrapped in a gift wrapper and with a bow on it. I joked her that I will put foods and fruits inside the box. She told me that food is not allowed inside the box - only toys.

So, I plan to buy her some educational toys as her present for her birthday. I am saving for that too. I keep on wishing that I can find some online opportunities that will give me some extra cash. Recently, online opportunities are scarce but I kept my hopes up.

Currency Collection

I love collecting different currencies from different countries. I never had a chance to get new addition to my collection for a couple of years. But, when I went home to Philippines, my brother who works in a ship gave me these. I was so happy to have them.

Little Lady in Blue

I spent few hours looking for the perfect dress for my princess. I went to Carters, Osh Kosh, Children's Place and Justice but I couldn't find a perfect dress for my little girl. Then I went to different mall. I finally found a dress at JC Penny. I also found the perfect accessories.

So here's my little lady in blue....
She looks so cute in her blue dress. She was even so excited to show off her dress and her necklace and bracelet. She told me, Mommy I look so pretty.

Flowers and Get Well Soon Card

I was sick this week. I had to call my doctor last Tuesday to schedule an appointment. I was lucky enough to see him last Wednesday. I was suffering from discomfort when urinating and my left side around the waist hurts. I had fever and chills Tuesday night.

I had my urine tested and they drawn a tube of blood to be tested when I went to the doctor. I had kidney infection so I had to be given an antibiotic shot on my hips. The shot hurts. It hurts so bad that I had a hard time walking. I also have to take 7 days of antibiotic.

Wednesday, I was still so sick. I still had fever and chills. Thursday I had another day of rest. Today, I feel much better. I woke up early took a very long hot shower and I feel like I am new.

My Mom Lori took care of Andrea while I was sick and Dave was at work. I didn't even have to cook as she let me order a to go food from the Chinese restaurant. Dave did most of the household chores while I was resting.

It was Wednesday night when Andrea and Dave bought the flowers and the card. They are all so sweet.

A Call from my Brother

I haven't seen my brother since I migrated here in the USA. The last time we saw each other was during our tearful goodbye when I left Philippines last November 2006. He is our youngest. I am always her ATE.

So many things have changed all these years but not our relationship. Despite the distance we kept in touch through emails, instant messenger, facebook, text messages and sometimes phone calls.

He was just a very young professional when I left. He was still undecided which career path to take then. Now, he is already married with a little girl of his own. He seems to be really happy with the career he chose. He now works in an international bound ship practicing his profession as an electrical engineer.

Anyway, their boat docked in Singapore thus he made a call to me. Imagine how happy I am to hear from him? My brother will always be the little brother that I used to think of him. Though he has matured and grown all this years, he will forever remain a little brother to me.

Weekly Call

Every Thursday night (Philippines time), my mom goes to my sister's house so that we have a way to contact her. I always look forward to our weekly call even if there is nothing important to talk about.

It is always good to talk to mom as we update each other about our daily lives. I know how much she likes it when we call her every week. She told me that her week is not complete if we don't call her.

Because I am up early today so I decided to call her because I missed calling her last week. I actually just hanged up the phone few minutes ago.

Annual Check-up

I had a busy day as I was scheduled to see my OB/GYN for my annual check up today. My appointment was at 2pm. Surprisingly, the office was still busy though it was already late. I usually see my doctor around 11AM but for this visit, 2pm is the only available slot.

Everything seems to be pretty normal with my check up. I will know the result of my pap smear in 3 weeks. So far everything went well.

After my check up, we went to do some grocery shopping. Before we all knew it, it was already 5pm and time to go home as it will get dark sooner and it is time to prepare for dinner.

Von Voyage

My sister Lita and her family will be flying in few hours. They are leaving Philippines for good. The whole family is migrating to New Zealand.

I know it is hard for them and so with everyone else in our family. I wish them luck on their new journey in life. May they have a wonderful life in New Zealand.

Missed the Wedding

The time has come. My youngest brother got hitched today. I definitely miss the occasion. I wish so bad that we were home to witness as he ties the knot of marriage. I have not seen my youngest brother since I moved here in the USA. The last time I saw him was at the airport as he sent me off when I left Philippines and that was year 2006.

Memorial Weekend!

What a week! We had a lot of fun and family bonding. A three day weekend. I know I was not in the blogland for the past 3 days. Weekends are for family bonding and family fun. I have to put my blogging into the backseat. This is just how it is.

Anyhow, we had a great memorial weekend despite the rising temperature. We spent most of our time fishing.

Saturday, hubby and I went fishing and I caught the biggest bass I ever caught since we started fishing. Andrea stayed with her Nana and Papa. I had some friends came over that night and I fried some fresh fish!

Sunday, we went back to fishing and brought Andrea with us. I really didn't fish much because Andrea and I played. We built sand castles and we found some seashells.

Monday, we decided to just stay home because we were wore out from the heat for the last two days. On the second thought, we bolted out and decided to just go fishing again. While hubby was fishing, Andrea and I were busy playing. Then after a while we went for a swim.

Muddy. Tired. Happy.

As a reward, I made spaghetti for all of us!

Attending a Graduation

Yesterday, we attended Alex kindergarten graduation. We were there with my friends. It was really a nice program. It was the first time that I attended such and I enjoyed it very much.

Andrea even have a grand time with the program. We watched the whole graduating class performed in a play and they sang couple of songs.

After they performed the singing and the play, we sat down to watch a slideshow of different pictures per class.

It was really great and we enjoyed it and I am so proud of Andrea because she behaved so well during the program.

My brother' request

I chatted with my brother few nights ago. He told me that there is newly opened internet cafe near where he lives. They have a wifi connection. He then hinted that he wants a laptop since it will be easy to get a free connection. He also mentioned that there is a free wifi in the municipal library which is also few meters from where he lives.

I told him that right now, I can't afford to buy him a new laptop as I just bought a new desktop for myself. I also told him that perhaps when we go home next year, I can bring one of those refurbished netbooks for him. I just don't want to send it to him because international shipping is somewhat costly. I told him to just be patient because if I have enough money, I will surely buy him one.

Tornado Effect

I have not been online for the past two days. The state of Alabama is really affected with the tornado. Thankfully, we were spared. There is no major damage. There are broken trees, broken limbs and such but the damage is minimal. We still don't have electricity. Thankfully, hubby charged my laptop to his work thus I am able to update my blog.

Many residents of Alabama are experiencing problems. Some don't have electricity, some don't have water, some don't have gas. Because of lack of electricity, I have to throw away everything on my refrigerator. I know it is a waste but that's how it is. I am still thankful that we are spared from the tornado.

Badminton

Last Sunday, we had fun at the park. While the kids are enjoying the swings and the slides, we the moms are enjoying a game of badminton.

I haven't played badminton in YEARS. We had so much fun running and chasing the "birdie". It was actually a good exercise for us.

Needless to say, up until now, my whole body is sore. I am not complaining though as we truly have fun.

Missing in Action

I can't believe that my last entry was 3 days ago. I survived without being here on the blog for 3 days. I just got so busy with life that I didn't have much time to get online.

I have been spending more time with my daughter whose imagination grows everyday. She now demands more of my time and I always felt guilty if I don't give her the time that she needs. Though if I am busy with my online works, she understands if I have to tell her that she has to wait because mommy is working.

Having less paid opportunities for my blog for the past few days, gives me another reason to spend more time with my daughter. We enjoyed our time together.

Vacation is OVER! (for now)

Our one week vacation is over. We didn't do expensive things but we did a lot of fun activities for the whole family. It was a vacation which was good for all of us especially our daughter. We did have a quality time together. We loved it!

Tomorrow, I promise to visit back your blogs folk. I was not regular in the blog land for a whole week but it is worth it as we spend wonderful time with my family.
