Dinner with Friends

Before we moved to our house, we live in a different town. Our former place was very accessible to my friends, thus they often come by to our place. Sometimes, we just get together to enjoy some good food and chit chat. It was sort of ordinary for us to just see each other every so often.

Things have changed when we moved because our place is farther from most of my friends already. I though have some Filipina neighbors but they are all working thus they don't have enough time to socialize.

To be honest, I miss those days. I miss those days when I just call them and tell them to come over to share a meal.

Anyway, yesterday three of my friends together with their kids came. I made fish soup and friend fish for us to eat. I also made some dessert. Our kids have fun playing in our yard and when it got late, they enjoyed playing inside too. As for us, we enjoyed the food and sharing some good laughs. It was fun!

ICEE fun

These are Andrea's friend. They are siblings. Jacob and Julia. We live close by.

They were here last night while waiting for their Mom from school. When Dave knew that they were there, he surprised them with ICEE. The kids enjoyed the ICEE, they were ecstatic about it despite the cold weather outside. The weather last night was in the 30's yet the kids didn't mind it. They were all so eager to eat/drink their ICEEs.

Let's Hold Hands

They are friends. They hang out at least once a week. It is good for my daughter to have friends her age. Though Matthew is older they play together.

This picture was taken when we went to the mall. They were walking together and they were looking for the playground.

Cute eh?

Friends

Meet my daughters close friends...

Alex, Matthew, Alma and Harley

Last week, my daughter kept on telling me... Mommy, I miss Alex. She wanted so bad to play with Alex. Then she would tell me, Mommy I miss 'ita Alma and Matthew.

Thankfully, Harley's Mom invited us to their place. This was where the picture was taken. The kids had so much fun playing both inside and outside. Of course "Tita Alma" was there with them too!

Girls and Shopping

Most girls love to shop and we are but a living proof of shopaholics. We love to shop and can shop for hours even if it means buying just 1 or 2 items in the store.

Window shopping is not really an expensive vice. We all like to go shopping, check their clearance items and look for something to buy, something that won't break our "broken" wallets.

Here's our shopping trip yesterday...

Seriously, we really didn't just get there for picture purposes. We did shopped and spent a couple of bucks...lol

New Red Convertible

A good friend of mine is on the market to buy a new car. She has an eye for a new red convertible. My friend likes Red obviously. She told me that they really need an extra car especially that their daughter will be starting to go to school on August. A nice red convertible will be a dream come true for her as she has always dream of owning one. Since they are looking to buy a new car, they are also looking for a cheap auto insurance.

I am happy for my friend. Last year, they just bought a new home and this year will be a new car. Things are all getting better for them. They have been working for it and they deserve what they got.

Fun Day at Leeds Park

In celebration of St. Patrick's Day, my Filipina friends invited us to have a picnic at Leeds Park. The park is very close to where we live. They were at the park around 11am which was too early for us. We joined them around 2pm.

Andrea had so much fun playing in the playground. I was a nervous Mom considering how high those slides as you can see at the background of the photo. I was not in the picture because I was busy making sure Andrea won't fall or have an accident or something.

It was a fun day for all of us and yes there were plenty of food! I even brought some dried fish to share with these girls!

Reconnected

This is my friend Aiza. We have known each other during our college years way back 1995. That has been long! So many things have happened, so many things have changed but we remain friends.

We lost contact with her just before I migrated here in the USA. The last time I heard about her was through her Aunt that she was already in Singapore.

Since middle of 2006 we lost in touch. We still wonder how she has been and where she is all this time.

Yesterday, I woke up with a BIG surprise! She added me in facebook! Now, tell me, isn't Facebook great?

It was so good to hear from her. We chatted and we talked and it seems just like the old times. Oh we definitely had fun catching up with each other.

She is still in Singapore now. I guess I have another reason to have a side trip to Singapore when we go home to Philippines.

Pigging Out...

There are times that we can't avoid to pig out. Yes, I know that we all should watch our food intake but during parties and get together where food is always plentiful, nobody can resist pigging out.

Anyway, my Filipino friends and I are always fond of getting together and eating our own Filipino food. Filipino foods may be more on veggies but still we do eat a lot. Most of the times, we often teased each other that we all need fat burner pills in order to get back to our former body shapes.

It is really unbelievable how much we all gained weight now that we are in USA. I guess because we used to have a healthier lifestyle in the Philippines.
