My First Turkey

I have never cooked Turkey my entire life. When we had our Thanksgiving, my MIL cooked a very good turkey and I told myself that I need to make one myself. Hubby likes turkey so we decided to buy a turkey and cooked it.

This is a 14.4lbs turkey. Yes it was big for just the two of us. I am proud that the turkey turned out good. It was so crispy and juicy.

Now, I have a lot of turkey left over in my fridge! Who wants to come over for a bite or two?

You could make soup out of it...or one thing that I like to do with holiday turkey left overs is make a casserole...layer the turkey, stuffing (stove top works great) mashed potatoes and gravy in a 9x13 pan, and bake at 400 for about 45-60 minutes or until everything is nice and hot...feel free to email me if you want! munchkin.amy@gmail.com

Congratulations on cooking your first turkey. Very nice looking! You did a lovely job. Turkey freezes well too if you want to save some for a later meal. You can also make turkey stock from the carcass.
