Buying a Microwave

I wanted to buy a new microwave for my mom but electric gadgets here in America uses 110v while in the Philippines the electric outlets are 220v. We do have plenty of power supplies which we used for our computers before. These power supplies can also be a voltage regular as it has both 110v and 220v outlets. As I checked online for the prices of microwaves, I have found out that the price of a good microwave in the Philippines is more than doubled than what it is priced her. Now, should I buy my mom a new microwave here or I should just buy her one in the Philippines. I need to think about this one and I need to decide before I will send the box to the Philippines next month.

Hi Lulu!

Ummm... for me I would advice you to just buy the microwave here in Pinas. Not only is the voltage requirement but also the cost of sending it to your mom. There are a lot of good brands here that you can choose from. Our microwave has been with us for like 6 years pero it's still working well. :) Good luck!

Hi Lulu,

If you're sending the oven along with other stuff in a balikbayan box, I'd say go for it!
