Decorating the house for summer

Summer is almost here and I want a new look of our humble abode for the summer. I plan to redecorate our house. Perhaps I will rearrange our living room, change our curtains and put some little knick knacks in our bathroom. I plan to buy a new set of curtains that will have a summery look. I am looking for affordable drapery fabric that I might can use to make my own. I know I am not good in making stuff but I am sure I will learn. My sister loves to make her own designs of curtains and I am sure I can get some tips from her.
