Adidas (Chicken Feet)

In the Philippines where most part of the meat is eaten, we call the chicken feet as Adidas. Chicken feet is very popular street food. In the sidewalks during the afternoons, you can always see little stands that are selling different street foods and I am sure chicken feet is always there. The vendors will pre-cooked the food and put them in the barbecue sticks. Buyers will just choose what they want and the seller will cook it in a charcoal grill. While waiting for your order to be done, you wont be bored as sellers often talk to you as part of their "customer service".

I am a fan of chicken feet. I love the crunchiness when you start chewing the feet! It may sound nasty to those who haven't tried it but I assure you it is so yummy! The picture below shows how chicken feet looks like...

Anyway, chicken feet are not very popular chicken part in the USA because most people does not eat them. Did you know that United States is by far the world’s leading supplier of king-size chicken feet. Exports of American poultry totaled $4.34 billion last year. Of that amount, $854.3 million worth of chicken meat (less than 2 percent of total revenue by the American chicken industry) was exported to China and Hong Kong.

China is threatening to cut off imports of American chicken, but poultry experts have at least one reason to suspect it may be an empty threat: Many Chinese consumers would miss the scrumptious chicken feet they get from this country.
